Big Island volcano helicopter tours
The question is not just which company. It is whether that company is allowed over the national park at all.

What a Hilo volcano flight covers
Safari’s 55-minute flight from Hilo passes Puʻu ʻŌʻō and the lower Puna flows from 2018, then turns up the Hāmākua coast for waterfalls. Blue Hawaiian’s longest flight, 1 hour 45 minutes from Waikoloa at $719, goes the other way: Kohala Coast, Waipiʻo and Waimanu valleys and the Hāmākua waterfalls.
Kīlauea is erupting in short bursts. If seeing lava is the whole point, check the eruption status the day before and ask the operator if the summit is on the route that day.
Weight and seating
Operators ask for every passenger’s weight and height. Give real numbers: a wrong figure can mean reshuffled seats or a rescheduled flight. See cost and weight rules.
